Oh look, I'm still alive! I just wrapped up my first semester back in school (I'm pursuing a second bachelor's degree) and celebrated by finally crossing "make a Damon/Elena fanmix" off of my to-do list. (Although I have to say I ended up leaving off a song that I consider a quintessential D/E song, so I may have to, you know, make another?)

For those of you wondering if I'll ever make icons again (if anyone is), I fully intend to make more and have some sitting around waiting until I have enough to justify making a full post. So, yes. I will. Eventually.

Anyway, without further ado, here is a Damon/Elena fanmix which is essentially in Damon's POV and spans everything that's aired so far (although there are no specific spoilers for anything). There are single-file download links from MediaFire and a complete zip file which is uploaded to my own webspace.

Veronika Decides to Die is a brilliant film based on a book of the same name by Paulo Coelho, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jonathan Tucker, and David Thewlis. It was filmed in 2008 and in 2009 was released in Brazil as well as a few European countries but as yet has not been released in the US or UK. Although the copy I have is not of particularly stellar quality, it is a freaking gorgeously filmed movie and I wanted to cap it. I figure I might be the only person on LiveJournal who wanted caps but since I made them it can't hurt to post them, right?

Note: If you download these without having seen the film, please know that I didn't leave all the blurry caps in there because I'm a lazy capper. The cinematography is beautiful, but it involves a lot (a lot) of playing with focus and a lack thereof. I left in a lot of the blurry caps because you can't get a feel for what the film looks like without them.

I swear I am working on icons, I swear! I'm in the middle of making icons for the Lost finale but it makes me REALLY emotional so I keep setting them aside, lol. And I definitely want to icon more of Doctor Who series five because it is SO PRETTY.

This mix has been on the very back burner for months as I slowly worked out the tracklists piece by piece in spare moments. It was inspired by the fact that I had two different versions of the song "Lost Without You," a very post-Doomsday song. The original is by Delta Goodrem, and I also have a live cover of the song by Darren Hayes (formerly of Savage Garden). That gave me the idea to build a two-disc mix around the two versions of the song, one with songs from the Doctor's POV, and one with songs from Rose's. Ages later, I've finally finished it! There are single-file downloads for each track uploaded to MediaFire, and a zip file containing all the songs and covers uploaded to my personal webspace.

Coincidentally, today is my bff unbrokensky's birthday. This is not really her present (what an angsty present it would be!), but since she was poking at me to finish this any time I mentioned it, I guess I will partially dedicate it to celebrating her birthday. Even if it is a great big ball of angst.

The fifth series of Doctor Who continues to delight me and continues to be eminently iconable. Also, I recently splurged and got myself an iPod touch and have started to make Doctor Who-related wallpapers for it, which I figured I would share for the benefit of others who have iPhones or iPod touches. They could probably do double duty as info banners if one wanted to use them as such :)

In the recent help_haiti fandom auction, I offered up a fanmix to the highest bidder. eboniorchid had the winning bid, and requested a post-series Max/Michael (Roswell) mix. Now, I was mainly a Dreamer in my Roswell days (aww, it was my baby's first fandom, lol) and when I wasn't largely backing conventional couples I tiptoed into the UC pool with Michael/Isabel (those BABY DREAMS tipped the scales, ngl). That being said, I seem to have acquired a pair of slash goggles in last year or so - thank you Captain Jack Harkness - so whilst my post-finale MAXLIZMAXLIZMAXLIZ mindset was a little hard to break out of, it was easier than it could have been. Hopefully I managed to put together something approaching what eboniorchid was hoping for!

Meanwhile, I apparently cannot make mixes based entirely on post-series or AU ideas without writing some of them down, so there are a few little vignettes interspersed with the songs. The individual song download links go to MediaFire; the complete zip file at the end is hosted on my own webspace and contains all tracks and the cover art.
